Anvaya Maps is a solo project, not a data conglomerate. I built this to document heritage sites, not to build a profile on you. Here is the straightforward truth about what happens with your data:
1. What we collect
If you just browse: We look at anonymous stats to see which maps people actually like. It helps me decide which states to document next. We don't know who you are, just that you visited.
If you create an account: We store the basics—your Name and Email. We need these so you can save places to your wishlist and create travel lists. That is literally it.
2. How we use it
We use your data to keep the website working. Your email is your unique ID. We don't sell your data to advertisers, brokers, or anyone else because frankly, that sounds like a lot of paperwork I don't want to do.
3. Cookies
We use standard cookies to keep you logged in. If you disable them, the site will forget who you are every time you refresh the page, which is annoying for both of us.
4. Communications
I might send an email update once in a blue moon if we launch a major new feature (like a new state map). I will not spam you. I hate spam more than you do.
5. Third Parties
We use industry-standard, secure providers to host the database and handle authentication. They are much better at security than I am, which is why I pay them to do it.
6. Your Rights
If you want to leave, just email me at anvaya.map@gmail.com and say "Delete my account." I will scrub your data from the system manually. No questions asked.
